Robot vacuums and mops have become more efficient, passing our tests of cleaning and tackling various floor types. Find models that allow you to choose from multiple modes, use their charging docks to automatically empty, and clean up the stairs.
A lot of the top models are compatible with smartphones. Find an application that lets you save maps, set schedules and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The gloss black and gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available. It uses lidar to navigate, and create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean app to let you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.
When I tested the S1, it was quick to map the downstairs area, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, plus medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was capable of driving up to walls and even over thresholds that are raised without issue. However it had some issues navigating down the stairs in one pass. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. Its mop moved smoothly on its flat side and lifted itself when it reached carpets or rug.
The S1's docking station automatically empties its dust bin and refills its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock also provides a deep-cleaning solution for the water. automated vacuum can hold enough for 12 cleaning sessions, but this will differ based on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure it is operating well. For this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank regularly to avoid it from clogging. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors frequently to avoid them from becoming clogged with dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop combo from Ecovacs is a great choice for your cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8,700Pa of suction and offers numerous unique features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that avoids obstructions and cleans furniture. Its mopping ability is impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than simply drag a pad across a surface. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station as needed.
This robot combo is easy to install and use, and has a clear interface that guides you through the procedure. It also comes with a hand-vacuum which can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are two water tanks that are automatically emptied or refilled. It comes with a range of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily removes most of the debris, and even smaller pieces of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also decent, but it can get stuck on small mats and rugs at my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries in the app). Mopping capabilities are very good and include a pair of mops which lift and scrub the floor instead of dragging the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned with hot water and dried in the base station when required. automated vacuum are also refilled from the top of the base station as required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their new flagship model has even more impressive features. It is a great cleaner and is easy to maintain. This makes it a contender for our top list of robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and an extended side brush will ensure an efficient, custom-designed clean is accomplished.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from both hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest places of our tests with ease while avoiding pet hairs and other dirt. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush which automatically moves out to reach hard-to-reach areas, and mop pads that extend along baseboards.
Its navigation system is intelligent, navigating tight spaces and negotiating the stairs without a hitch. It can move from one area to another without having to reverse direction, which is a handy feature for homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is not as advanced than the ones of other competitors and leaves a large margin between obstacles. This can result in missed spots.
The app's interface is intuitive and easy to use. It should be easy to use by both novice and experienced users. automated vacuum cleaner allows you to schedule and manage cleanings. You can also alter suction power, mop settings and view 2D and 3-D maps. You can control it through the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can even tap into the X40 Ultra's camera remotely to get live video surveillance. But, you'll need a stable Wi-Fi connection to operate it through the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
A robot vacuum can do a fantastic job of removing debris and dirt but it's not always able to reach every last particle of dust. It's essential to clean your home regularly, once a week. This is particularly important for dust that collects in corners, on shelves and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums and mop, is made to do just that. It is easy to connect it to your home WiFI network and also works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is an edgier version of the company's more expensive S-series models, which include the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensor, but cuts down on cost by removing mopping functions and using a less expensive plastic body.
The Q5 is still one of the most powerful vacuums and mopping machines we've seen at this price even though it's not able to clean your floor. It has a suction power of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system, so you don't have to empty the bin by hand each time. It also features a smart app that lets you set your floor's type and schedule cleanings. It also has an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system to allow hands-free operation.
Its mops also impress with their 2700Pa capacity to tackle dirt and pet hair, on both carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is among the few robots we tested that didn't have any issues with high-pile carpets or area carpets, but it didn't remove cables or kitty litter that's not a surprise considering it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also uses an innovative mapping system that allows it to reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums are unable to. The K10 Plus also collects more dust in the bin, which means you don't need to empty it as often. It also has washable filters which further reduces the expenses associated with using the device. The robot can recognize carpets, and boost suction if necessary. The app also lets you to mark areas that you want it to avoid, which is a nice feature.
